Review of Previous Minutes:
Motion to accept Minutes made: Approved
Old Business:
Motion to provide funds for the club to buy two observation hives presented by Kelly Kiker, seconded by Sara Beth
Barnette. Motion passed.
New Business:
Motion to continue Davidson County Beekeepers Association website presented by Keith Elkes, seconded by Andy
Willard. Motion passed.
Motion to continue to use HostGator servers via Bushkill Ventures, LLC as our web host for the site presented by
Andy Willard, seconded by Sara Beth Barnette. Motion passed.
Motion to amend the previous motion to renew the agreement on website hosting for 1 year presented by Jeff
Boyst, seconded by Kelly Kiker. Motion passed.
Motion to accept Tom Tincher and Tom Lawson as members of the year for Lifetime nomination in the the DCBA
presented by Andy Willard, seconded by Marvin Driggers. Motion passed.
Discussion
B.J. suggested that we change the way Member of the Year nomination and assignment is handled to make it more
compliant with standard practices. The change would allow any member to submit a written request to nominate
a member for the award. The Executive committee will also evaluate members they feel worthy of the award and
choose an eligible member as the Member of the Year for announcement at the November monthly meeting.
An informal vote was taken to determine if there was enough interest to pursue the change which is governed by
the By-Laws. All members present were in agreement to move forward with the change, therefore, the formal
process will proceed which includes advance written notification to all members and an official vote.
