Our experienced instructors will teach you all the essential skills needed to be a successful beekeeper.
- History of Beekeeping
- Honey Bee Biology
- Beekeeping Equipment/Hive Components
- Diseases and Pests
- Routine and Seasonal Management
- Products of the Hive
Cost is $60 per person, students under 18 years $20, includes:
- 7 nights of classroom training/lectures
- 2 hands-on field days that cover in-hive skills discussed in the classroom
- Course literature
- 1 year membership dues for Davidson County Beekeepers Association (DCBA) and NC State Beekeepers Association
- Enrollment in DCBA mentor program – considered by many to be the best in the state!
- Certificate of Completion
Classes will be held at the NC Co-operative Extension building, 301 E. Center St., Lexington 27292 on Monday nights from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Class dates: January 27, February 10, 24, March 9, 23, 30, April 6
Field Days will be on Saturdays in April – dates and locations TBD.
